About Me

Hi there!

I'm Rebecca McGeehan, a multimedia journalist from Derry, NI. I graduated from the University of Leeds with a first class honours BA Journalism degree, where I also received my BJTC accreditation. 

I am currently available to work in Ireland and the UK, and I am willing to relocate.

I am trained in both TV and radio journalism, and I have experience with live broadcasting for each. My three years with student radio honed my audio skills, for both presenting and producing. I have produced full 15-minute television news programmes and a multitude of TV packages.

I also have experience in the traditional print medium. I spent my summer before my final year interning at the Derry Journal, learning the practice of writing for local news.

I especially enjoy producing news for a digital platform. I love adapting traditional news for a social media audience, making it understandable and accessible. 

I just love journalism: the creativity, the curiosity, the drive to tell the important stories.
